110 North 1st Street, Brooklyn
Deitch Projects and Fischerspooner presented the Excellent Workshop, a series of evening Salons held at the FS studio space at 110 North First Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn every Thursday from the summer of 2004 through the spring of 2005.
The Salons began in July 2004, but were put on a brief hiatus over the winter while the band put the finishing touches to their long awaited second album ‘Odyssey.’ The grand finale on April 14th was the Neo2 Magazine launch of the Extra issue and the second release party for Fischerspooners long anticipated new album ‘Odyssey’ released by Capitol/EMI worldwide on April 5.
This Salon project was created to encourage participation and
experimentation in the creative process that surrounds Fischerspooner, and has been a breeding ground of ideas and references for their new bodies of work in music and art.
By drawing a shifting and expanding group of people to the space every week, the Excellent Workshop project explored ideas of art in community and the development of creative partnerships across all artistic media.
