West Broadway from Houston to Grand Streets
Deitch Projects, Creative Time and Paper Magazine presented the third annual Art Parade. The parade took place on Saturday, September 8th, at 4:00 PM, on West Broadway, between Houston and Grand Street. Following the success of the past two Art Parades, artists, performers and designers were again invited to create floats, balloons, placards, portable sculptures, performances and street spectacles.
Past parade participants have included, Yoko Ono, E.V. Day, The Citizens Band, Fisherspooner and Taylor McKimmons. This year’s parade included over 75 projects, including those by Tauba Auerbach, Assume Vivid Astro Focus, Matthew Rodriguez, The Dazzle Dancers, Kenny Scharf, COCO’s Demoiselles, Trevor Stone and The Conundrums, and involved over 700 participants—making this the largest and most dynamic Art Parade yet.
The Art Parade was co-produced by Creative Time, New York’s veteran and vanguard public arts presenter, and Paper Magazine, the definitive guide to downtown style and culture.
